A very tragic and shocking incident has come to light from Dal Patel's Pol in the Mandvi area of the cultural city of Vadodara. Three members of the same family living here committed mass suicide, causing panic in the entire parish. 47-year-old Aartiben Soni, along with her 24-year-old son Neelkanth and 22-year-old daughter Jenny Soni, took an extreme step and ended their lives.
The family was highly educated and well-off.
The deceased's daughter, Jenny Soni, had recently become an Ayurvedic doctor and was running her clinic on Old Padra Road. While her son, Neelkanth, had returned from Canada two years ago after completing his studies/work. According to neighbours and relatives, the family was financially very happy and prosperous.
Started a new business after her husband's death
About a year ago, Chetan Soni, a key member of the family and associated with the business of Soni Kam and gold bangles making, died of a heart attack. After his death, the family closed Soni Kam and became active in the healthcare sector. They started 'ZSEPS Pharmaceutical Factory' near Jarod and started manufacturing medicines and also ran 'ZSEPS Healthcare' clinic on Old Padra Road.
Despite having no financial worries, they lived in anxiety.
According to Artiben's business partner Ketan Shah and relative Seemaben Soni, the family never had any financial problems. However, after the sudden death of her husband Chetanbhai, Artiben was constantly worried and had reduced her interaction with people. The entire incident came to light when the housekeeper opened the door with another key she had.
Neighbors said they never dreamed that the smiling family would suddenly take such an extreme step. As soon as the incident was reported, a convoy of high-ranking police officers rushed to the spot and shifted the three bodies for postmortem and further legal investigation has been initiated to find out the exact reasons for the suicide.
